Location Overview

Tucked away in the suburb of Castro Valley, Lake Chabot is only 30 minutes away from San Francisco. This scenic destination boasts over a dozen hiking and biking trails, trophy sized fish, boat rentals, bay area kayak tours and a picturesque eating area at the surprisingly delicious cafe – the perfect place to cool down and refuel after a fun-filled day.

Responsibilities & Qualifications



  • Monitors entire ranch property and handles any concerns or questions from guests
  • Directs all group sales, events and marketing activities including social media and online reviews
  • Represents property to the media, community members and with local business and visitor industry organizations.
  • Takes an active role in seeing that facilities and equipment are properly maintained and used appropriately
  • Ensures vehicle procedures are followed in the use of assigned vehicles.
  • Ensures established rules and standards for housekeeping and sanitation are followed.
  • Empowers staff to exceed guests’ expectations
  • Be a friendly and helpful resource to visitors
  • Reports problems to TCPC Management and Agency staff as needed.

Personnel Management:

  • Recruitment, interviewing, hiring, training and evaluating of staff
  • Assigns work duties, schedules and shifts
  • Establishes staff work schedules within budgetary and occupancy guidelines
  • Assists in assuring employees follow policies, practices and procedures of the company


  • Monitors costs and expenditures
  • Oversees daily accounting tasks including A/P, A/R, P/R, reconciling accounts through Accounting team
  • Manages General Ledger
  • Oversees application of cash handling and bank deposits through Accounting team
  • Creates, updates and maintains Excel spreadsheets as appropriate and as needed
  • Assigns and oversees all month-end functions
  • Key to budget development

 Training and Safety:

  • Knows and understands the Work Safety Rules of the Company and work in a safe manner at all times.
  • Assists supervisors with both training and safety procedures and ensures all employees receive training and follow safety procedures.
  • Conducts staff meetings and training meetings on regular scheduled basis or as directed

Agency Relationship:

  •  Maintains an excellent relationship with Agency Partner
  • Attends meetings as needed
  • Familiar with agency contract and contractual obligations
  • Creates reports as needed



  • 5+ years in recreation/hospitality related position and minimum 3 years managerial or supervisory work
  • Knowledgeable about visitor services and amenities in the park
  • Willing and able to work weekends, nights, holidays and varying weather conditions
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Positive attitude towards environment essential
  • Genuine concern for guests’ lodging/visitation experience essential
  • Understanding of budgets and accounting
  • Strong decision making and leadership abilities
  • Must possess a valid Driver’s License with a clean 3-year history and no DUI convictions in the past 5years.
