Location Overview

Located nine miles north of Laughlin on the Arizona side of Lake Mohave, Katherine landing features RV facilities, boat rentals , boat slips, launch ramp, picnic area, marina, dry storage, restaurant, snack bar, general store and other resort amenities. Boat rentals range from personal watercrafts to 16-foot fishing boats to 18 foot runabouts for waterskiing and exploring, 24-foot patio boats and house boats that sleep up to 14 people.

 

Responsibilities & Qualifications

General Function:  The Retail, Food, and Beverage Manager will directly supervise the operation of the food service and the retail segments of the facility as well as scheduling of all staff.  The RF&B Manager will have regular communication with agency personnel, coordinating company activities defined in the agreement with same. 

 

JOB SEGMENTS:

 

  • Personnel Management
  • Schedule personnel based on skill levels and department fiscal goals.
  • Oversee accurate conformance with personnel policies, practices and procedures of the company.
  • Lead, coach and motivate personnel to meet management, guest and co-worker satisfaction.
  • Enforce compliance with all company employee grooming standards, employee uniform standards and safety practices.
  • Cross train personnel in appropriate positions according to business needs and employees performance skills.

 

  • Training and Safety
  • Work in a safe manner at all times. Know and understand the Work Safety Rules of the Company.  Enforce compliance with workers under your supervision. 
  • Enforce established company safety program for all staff
  • Include safety component in every training event, including special emphasis on lifting and teamwork to achieve safe practices

 

  • Retail Operations
  • Provide clean, innovative and well stocked displays
  • Order all necessary retail products in accordance with demand or as directed
  • Complete or delegate inventory of all merchandise as outlined in company policy
  • Ensure conformance with all rules and regulations and procedures regarding inventory of all merchandise
  • Accurately price and track all merchandise

 

  • Food Operations
  • Oversee menu selections to guarantee nutritional balance and customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure staff are trained in food preparation procedures
  • Oversee staff food preparation and participates if necessary
  • Ensure conformance with all Health Dept. food handling and sanitation regulations
  • Ensure food preparation area is organized, clean, well-maintained and stocked

 

  • Store and Facility Management
  • Ensure all staff are trained in necessary cleaning procedures to provide a safe and pleasant environment for both customers and employees
  • Perform cleaning procedures as needed to conform with a safe and pleasant environment

 

  • Customer Relations
  • Maintain highest level of customer satisfaction in all aspects of the operations
  • Empower staff to exceed the guests’ expectations whenever possible

 

  • Administrative
  • Meet with General Manager on a regularly scheduled basis
  • Assist GM with the development of the annual operating budget, paying close attention to all controllable costs, i.e. labor, operating expenses and cost of goods.
  • Ensure Policy and Procedures are in place for opening and closing of the stores
  • Ensure proper training is done for all staff
  • Monitor, code and process all invoices according to company procedures

 

  • Agency Relations
  • Be familiar with our contractual obligations with our agency.
  • Maintain and protect the confidentiality of all data/information related to specific job assignments and the company.

 

 

 

Qualifications: 

Required:

    • Minimum high school education plus 2 years college or equivalent education.
    • Degree in Culinary arts or restaurant administration preferred but not essential.
    • 3+ years experience in managerial or supervisory work related to retail and food service operations.
    • Possess current Food Handler’s card
    • ACF certification preferred but not essential
    • Must have working knowledge of MS Office including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
    • Must possess a valid Driver’s License with a clean 3-year history and no DUI convictions in the past 5 years.
    • Reliable transportation. 
    • Requires weekend, night and holiday work.

PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT:

 

The Retail, Food, and Beverage Manager will use various tools and office equipment on a daily basis.  Footwear required shall be a high quality closed toe shoe with non-skid sole.  No open toe sandals or thongs will be allowed on the job.  The RF&B Manager will be knowledgeable in the safety practices and standards set by the company, relative to the work environment he/she operates in.  He/she will also make it a duty to assure that all co-workers are working with those same safety practices and standards.

 

 Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time (6 – 8 hours per day)
  • Ability to sit, and use a computer mouse, keyboard, and monitor, for moderate periods of time (1 – 3 hours per day)
  • Ability to stoop, crouch, kneel, and/or crawl on occasion
  • Ability to lift and/or move objects weighing up to 50 pounds
