Located nine miles north of Laughlin on the Arizona side of Lake Mohave, Katherine landing features RV facilities, boat rentals , boat slips, launch ramp, picnic area, marina, dry storage, restaurant, snack bar, general store and other resort amenities. Boat rentals range from personal watercrafts to 16-foot fishing boats to 18 foot runabouts for waterskiing and exploring, 24-foot patio boats and house boats that sleep up to 14 people.
The Project Manager is responsible for initiating and upgrading compliance with contractual, federal and local regulatory requirements of Katherine Landing Marina, a division of the Lake Mead National Recreation Area under authority of the National Park Service in Bullhead City, Arizona. The location is a large property with operations that include a motel, campgrounds, RV Park, restaurant and large marina with 892 boat slips. The Project Manager works with the General Manager and an integrated team to manage the coordination of compliance with the operations environment. The Project Manager balances the competing project constraints and ensures that all projects are executed following the planned strategy, on time and on budget utilizing strong monitoring and controls.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree from accredited college or university, advanced study in program development and management. This senior staff position requires 4-6 years’ experience in project management within the company or in similar recreation/service industry management positions. Emphasis on Safety/OSHA program and policy development, environmental management systems, hazardous material handling and preventative planning, and a range of job related policy development in the marina and shore services industry is expected.
General Function: The Project Manager will become the primary employee that will manage the Reporting Responsibilities of the business as defined in the Operations Plan incorporated into the Contract with NPS (see supplemental attachment). The key areas of response are date sensitive and require drafting, revision and final approvals for each deliverable. Planning includes review of existing planning and methodology documents that may need research and revision. Third party resources include NPS, Insurance underwriters, legal and local regulators.

The employee will perform many tasks and functions alongside of, or in the presence of persons working in an environment which requires protective equipment. He/she shall always use the appropriate equipment to insure personal safety and the safety of workers.
In order to perform many essential tasks, the employee must be independently mobile. Lifting moderate weights (up to 40 lb.) is common. Lifting Heavy weights (up to 70 lb.) is occasional. The competence and agility to negotiate slippery terrain common in the marina environment is expected.
This position will be project management for the first 9-12 months and then roll into a Contract Compliance and Environmental Management position that will report directly to the General Manager. Housing will be provided at a minimal rate. We offer a competive Salary with benefits.
