Location Overview


Manzanita Lake Camper Service store and Camping Cabins offers convenience and comfort in a scenic setting of the Lassen Volcanic National Park.  We provide rental cabins, gift, grocery and supply sales and kayak rentals.  Within walking distance of Manzanita Lake, a popular fishing and family destination, and offer a view of 10,457-foot Lassen Peak, the largest volcano in the park.


The store and cabins are located one mile south of the park entrance, perched at an elevation of 5,890 feet and adjacent to a 179-site campground. Manzanita Lake is popular with fly fishermen for its trout, however, the area does maintain a catch-and-release policy and requires the use of artificial lures and single barb-less hooks only. The park boasts more than 150 miles of hiking trails, a variety of which can be accessed from the campground, including family-friendly hikes as well as those for more experienced hikers. Manzanita Lake is also a favorite spot for birders.


Responsibilities & Qualifications


Personnel Management

  • In collaboration with the General Manager, recruits, interviews, hires, trains and evaluates housekeeping and restroom crews in all operations
  • Delegates or creates and posts weekly and/or bi-weekly schedules for all staff based on business demands and monitor labor costs through approval of scheduling
  • Oversees accurate conformance with personnel policies, practices and procedures of the company
  • Enforces compliance with all company employee grooming standards, employee uniform standards and safety practices  
  • Conducts orientation training and in-service training to explain policies, work procedures and to demonstrate the use and maintenance of equipment  
  • Ensures all staff are trained in necessary cleaning procedures to provide a safe and pleasant environment for both customers and employees
  • Performs cleaning procedures as needed to conform with a safe and pleasant environment
  • Performs cleaning routines in cottages, office buildings, rental facilities, restrooms, portable restrooms and campground restrooms
  • Inventories supplies to ensure proper amount of stock  



  • Must be bondable
  • Minimum high school education plus 2 years college or equivalent education
  • 3+ years experience in supervisory work related to housekeeping or facilities management
  • Must be able to give direction and work in team environment
  • Ability to use a computer including word processing, spreadsheet and e-mail functions.
  • Must possess a valid Driver’s License with a clean 3-year history and no DUI convictions in the past 5 years
  • Reliable transportation
  • Requires weekend, night and holiday work
