Location Overview

Lake Hemet is surrounded by the majestic beauty of the San Jacinto Mountains. This property has a 600+ site campground, RV Park, marina, Water Park, high volume camper store and deli, and much, much more.  The scenery is breathtaking no matter which direction your gaze travels. Tall pines, manzanita trees, sage, and giant oaks abound. Remember to pack a camera and binoculars, and keep a watchful eye, as the eagles are often seen soaring above and around the Campground. There are also plenty of Hawks soaring overhead throughout the forest and campground. Come and enjoy camping, fishing, boating and the breath-taking scenery all year round.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Position:  Gate Attendant

Reports to:  General Manager

Classification:  Regular Full-time Non-Exempt




  • Essential Functions
  • First impressions are important. The gate attendant is the FIRST contact our guests have when they arrive at our park. How they are initially treated will be their first impression for the remainder of their stay.   A gate attendant must be courteous, polite, patient, friendly and helpful at all times. A smile is essential!
  • Knowledge of general information concerning rates, rules and regulations, operation hours of main office, and any special events or activities that may be occurring is essential
  • Awareness of emergency procedures, which might entail directing emergency vehicles to problem area and/or clearing a traffic lane for an emergency entrance.  Please refer to section entitled “Emergency Procedures” for further instructions regarding emergency procedures.
  • Assist with park issues as necessary or directed, and inform management of the issues and potential problems. Responsible for knowing where management staff is and how to reach them at all times.

  • Work in a safe manner at all times. Know and understand the Work Safety Rules for the Company.  Enforce compliance with workers under your supervision
  • Adhere to Company dress code while on duty.
  • Meet and follow established safety program for all staff following company guidelines and practices

  • Maintain highest level of customer satisfaction in all aspects of the operations
  • Empower staff to exceed the guests’ expectations whenever possible
  • Welcome guests and customers by greeting them, in person or on the telephone; answering or directing inquiries
  • Maintain customer confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential






  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Possess basic mathematical aptitude.
  • Ability to multitask
  • Friendly and courteous
  • Genuine concern for guests’ recreation experien
  • Able to work in varying weather conditions
  • Must possess a valid Driver’s License with a clean 3-year history and no DUI convictions in the past 5 years.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Must be available weekends, nights and holiday.

Be a willing member of The California Parks Company, performing all duties and functions as assigned to the best of his/her ability.


The Gate Attendant will use various tools and equipment on a daily basis.  Footwear required shall be a work boot or a high quality athletic shoe providing ankle support.  No open toe sandals or flip flops will be allowed on the job.  The Gate Attendant will be knowledgeable in the safety practices and standards set by the company, relative to the work environment he/she operates in.  He/she will also make it a duty to assure that all co-workers are working with those same safety practices and standards.
